Winter storm safety and survival

Winter storm safety and survival is a well known thing in most of your heavily snowed on areas of the country. However, with that being said; it isn’t always to say that you will never run into a snow storm if the area you live in doesn’t get them often.
As the weather changes throughout the world, it is becoming increasingly more important for everyone to be prepared for the winter months and snow storms.
Remember to keep stocked up on non-perishable food and water in the case of a power outage. Keeping a manual can-opener on hand to open your non-perishable goods; not to mention a few much-needed things like rock salt, a heavy-duty snow shovel or square mouthed shovel,  a camping stove or grill, matches and candles, blankets, a cell phone, flashlights and a solar radio.
Some other items that you may want to keep handy for a couple days or weeks are medications and a first aid kit.
