Preparing for terrorism
Preparing for terrorism has become a thought in the forefront of American’s minds since the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. They have left us all quaking with the thoughts of what-if in the case of terrorist acts.
Fortunately, there are ways to prepare for terrorism. Allowing you and your family to stay safe in a trying time. First and foremost you should have an emergency communication plan. First and foremost is the means of communicating with your family. Whether it be via telephone, email, or text. Communication with your family will be a vital part of keeping safe during this time. Once you have done this, you will then establish a meeting place. This place can be both your home or a safe place that all members of your family know well. Remember, even your pets should be included in this plan.
Next, you should assemble your disaster preparedness kit. Allowing a minimum of two weeks worth of food, water, medical supplies, and emergency tools; all of which will help you to stay alive during a terrorist attack.
Lastly, you should always keep in contact with schools and work. This will help to make sure that everyone is on the same page when it comes to preparing for terrorism. |
