Preparing for a landslide

Preparing for a landslide is of the utmost importance. While you can’t do much to prepare for a mudslide or landslide as they strike normally without warning; if you choose to live in landslide country, you should take some extra precautions.
Before a landslide has the chance of happening, there are a few things that you should do to stay prepared. First and foremost you should get an overall ground assessment of your home. This will help to determine the overall stability of your home.
Once this has been done you will need to create an overall emergency plan; Including a safe place to go in the event of a landslide, an evacuation plan, and knowing the general warning signs of a landslide. Keeping medical supplies and food and water enough for two days is important. This is in the case that you aren’t able to evacuate directly after a landslide.
